Nautical instruments for seafaring

On the high seas, knowledge of meteorological aspects plays just as important a role as time. That’s why Erwin Sattler adds high-quality and lovingly designed additional instruments to his Navalis ship’s clock. These are not only decorative, but also fulfill their purpose and ensure a safe sailing trip with precise measurement results. Whether on the boat or at home in the living room, the nautical instruments cut a fine figure everywhere.

Erwin Sattler's nautical measuring instruments

Erwin Sattler’s Munich watch manufactory produces three measuring instruments: a thermometer, barometer and precision hygrometer. All three are manufactured using the finest craftsmanship. They impress with their high-quality workmanship, precise readings and classic design.

Thermometer

The thermometer displays the temperature in degrees Celsius or optionally in Fahrenheit. The thermometer measures how warm or cold the air is. This makes it easy to monitor the ambient temperature and react to temperature fluctuations in good time.

Barometer

The barometer is used to keep an eye on atmospheric pressure. The readings from this nautical instrument can be used to make weather forecasts. High values indicate an area of high pressure and good weather conditions. Low values, on the other hand, can lead to a change in the weather. The Erwin Sattler barometer has an aneroid can measurement as well as a setting pointer to mark the current air pressure in hPa or inches.

Precision hygrometer

The third nautical instrument is a precision hygrometer that is equipped with Supratherm technology and displays the relative humidity as a percentage. Relative humidity is the amount of water vapor in the ambient air at the time of measurement. High humidity can indicate impending precipitation, while low humidity indicates dry weather.

High-quality materials & easy installation

The housings of this trio are turned from solid brass, then finely polished and chrome-plated to protect against corrosion. The maritime instruments can be securely fastened in the ship with 3 screws each. There is also a mounting bracket in the rear panel for mounting on walls at home.

The fine blue Breguet-style steel hands with their characteristic counterweights precisely indicate the respective measured values.

High-quality nautical instruments from Erwin Sattler

Nautical measuring instruments in the form of thermometers, barometers and hygrometers are the perfect choice for responsible and safe sailing. They display precise and reliable values so that you can optimally adjust to changes in the weather. So nothing stands in the way of a relaxing sailing trip!

Erwin Sattler’s nautical instruments are not only useful measuring devices, but also decorative highlights that enhance the appearance of boats.

FAQ

Nautical instruments are devices used in shipping to carry out navigation, weather observation and other maritime measurements.

The barometer measures the air pressure in the atmosphere. Falling air pressure often indicates deteriorating weather, while rising pressure indicates improving weather conditions. It is an important instrument for weather forecasting.

The hygrometer measures the humidity in the environment. It provides information about how much water vapor is in the air. The humidity can be used to forecast precipitation, for example.
